Makkah and Madinah Hosted Taraweeh for Ramadan
The General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques officially released the Taraweeh prayer schedule for Ramadan 2025 at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. Muslims worldwide participated in the holy month, which began on either March 1 or 2, 2025, based on moon sighting reports on February 28, 2025.
Masjid al-Haram Taraweeh Schedule 2025
According to the schedule released by the Makkah Haram Administration, Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah were led by seven distinguished Imams:
- Sheikh Abdur Rahman As Sudais
- Sheikh Maher Al Muaiqly
- Sheikh Abdullah Juhany
- Sheikh Bandar Baleelah
- Sheikh Yasir Dawsary
- Sheikh Badr Al Turki
- Sheikh Waleed Al Shamsan
The Taraweeh prayers at Masjid al-Haram consisted of 10 Rak’ahs, followed by 3 Rak’ahs of Witr. Worshippers experienced a spiritually uplifting environment as different Imams led prayers on specific nights.
Masjid an-Nabawi Taraweeh Schedule 2025
At Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah, Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers were led by eight esteemed Imams:
- Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al-Hudhaify
- Sheikh Khalid Muhanna
- Sheikh Abdullah Buayjaan
- Sheikh Ahmed Taleb
- Sheikh Abdullah Qarafi
- Sheikh Muhsin al Qasim
- Sheikh Saleh Budair
- Sheikh Muhammad Barhaji
Similar to Masjid al-Haram, the Taraweeh prayers at Masjid an-Nabawi included 10 Rak’ahs followed by 3 Rak’ahs of Witr.
Live Streaming for Global Viewers
For those who could not visit the holy mosques in person, the prayers were broadcast live, allowing Muslims worldwide to join in spiritually from their homes.
Notable Absence of Sheikh Saud Al Shuraim
It was confirmed that Sheikh Saud Al Shuraim did not lead Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers at Masjid al-Haram for the third consecutive year.
